Blue Point | Whitstable
So now that we have a puppy it was only right that we booked a "family" holiday in the UK, basically a holiday just for the dog (he's obviously top of my mum's favourites list). We found a beautiful house on Unique Home Stays, seriously look on here if you want The Holiday style English houses.
We stayed in a beautiful beach cottage, Blue Point, right on the beach front at Whitstable Bay in Kent. I was skeptical of what to expect when we first arrived (we all know pictures aren't always to be trusted) but it didn't disappoint. We walked into modern, seaside inspired interiors, large brightening windows, spiral staircases and balconies leading to the beach and overlooking the most beautiful sea view. I couldn't wait to spend the rest of the week here.
I cannot recommend Unique Home Stays enough, I am obsessed with the houses they offer and am currently spending all my spare time looking for the next location to go to.
Here's a tour of the house:
The first floor held the fully equipped kitchen and dining area, it had everything you could think of including a fridge full of beer & wine (what else did you need?) and the cutest hamper with healthy snacks was the perfect touch. I can't talk about the kitchen without talking about the beautiful Le Creuset stone mugs in coastal blue, they fitted with the interior so perfectly and are the first item added to my christmas list this year (only 17 weeks away eeek!). There was also a downstairs wet room where the dog spent most of his time once he came out of sea looking like a drowned rat.
The best feature of this floor was definitely the front porch area which was right on the beach front. This is where everyone spent most of their time (thankfully the UK had blessed us with a miracle and gave us 5 days of 30degree sunshine) chilling on the cushioned sofas, looking out at the sea view, even Teddy sat on top of the cushions and watched* the world go by (*he was on puppy patrol, barked at every dog in sight and made every attempt at escaping).
This floor had mine and my brother's bedroom, as well as a living room area with yet another set of double doors leading to a sea view balcony. I fell in love with the living area, it gave me serious interior envy with the bay window seat (the perfect napping spot). The view was almost as beautiful as the Designer's Guild fabrics used on the sofas and cushions (this was all I went on about).
The top floor of the house had a double bedroom, for my parents, and the bathroom. This was the kind of bedroom you dream about, all white with blue accents and a window the size of the wall overlooking the sea. It was beautiful. Can't forget about the bed throw and the towels, I have never been so obsessed by towels before but Designer's Guild have done wonder with these, and I just love how all of the blue accents around the house match so well, it really is the little things that can make your stay that more enjoyable.
